Glistening houses and trees truly make the holiday season better, and it is what helps many people look forward to the cold weather and snow. Decorating is simply just a part of the spirit of the holidays. Whether you celebrate early and put the lights up at the beginning of November or prefer to wait to string lights until Dec. 1, after Thanksgiving, no one can deny that seeing streets lit up in different colors adds cheer and festivity to everyday life. However you do it, putting up Christmas decorations is fun any time of the year. But, what is the original meaning of these decorations?
What makes Christmas morning so special? The true meaning of the tree may bring even more joy on Christmas morning; according to Travel France online,“[The] evergreen tree is a symbol of everlasting life and light, representing hope and renewal.” Christmas morning really does bring life and light. The excitement of opening your presents under the lit-up tree is truly the most exciting morning of a child’s life. The tree does not only conduct excitement, but it also brings families closer together under the magical warmth of the Christmas tree.
Now let’s get to the true facts on why we decorate our homes for the holidays, and the true meaning behind it. Travel France Online said, “Germany and Eastern European countries have become specialists in crafting blown, spun, and molded glass, as well as metal, wax, or wooden decorations. These decorations include angels, baby Jesus figures, miniature Santas, gifts, bows, and a variety of wooden objects, all amid garlands and multicolored balls.” Ornaments truly do bring joy to all the people that hang them up. Whether you buy them at the store, use family ornaments, or even make them yourselves, they bring delight.
Decorating the Christmas tree and hanging up the ornaments, overall, captures happiness around the holidays. Christmasdesginers.com said, “Parents hope to recreate the magic and joy of the holiday season for their own kids, turning longstanding family habits into annual rituals. The decorations are all part of capturing that old spark, and the way we put them up becomes almost like an incantation for a spell.” The magical sense of decorating for the holidays does not only present joy to a child, but it helps the parents capture ‘the good old days’. Parents can recreate these moments with their children, and maybe one day a child can do the same for their children.
Even if you do not have children or live alone, you can still make the holidays special. By having your own Christmas tree or your own decorations, it can bring comfort to your home. Christmas allows many people to unwind and worry less, and decorations only make it more peaceful.
The colors of Christmas convey not only triumph, but they bring families together. Sophomore Sydney Punzal said, “I decorate for Christmas the most. It’s probably the most special because it’s a family tradition. All my family from all over decorates their houses the same.” This holiday season allow yourself to take time and decorate your home. Whichever holiday you celebrate, make your home more comfortable for the holidays. Have a safe and fun holiday, SL.
