Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian..who is next?: What makes Pete Davidson so attractive?

Kim Kardashian, one of the most famous women in the country, has recently begun dating comedian Pete Davidson, which began after her public divorce with husband and rapper, Kanye West. Kardashian and Davidson have been spotted together in public multiple times. However, she is not the only woman with whom  Davidson has been romantically entangled. At one point he and singer Ariana Grande were a couple and even engaged for a period of time. So, what exactly is it that makes women find Davidson so attractive?

In an interview for Late Night with Seth Meyers, supermodel Emily Ratajkowski explained that, “He simply has a lot of qualities that many women look for in a partner.” She also said, “He’s vulnerable. He’s lovely. His fingernail polish is awesome. He looks good!” While Davidson may not fit the standard mold of what society deems ‘attractive’, his personality is what shines through. In the same interview, Ratajkowski also noted that he has a good relationship with his mom. This is considered a green flag for many women when looking for a partner. It is generally believed that men who treat their mother well are also likely to treat their girlfriend or wife well. 

Davidson is also a well known comedian. Many people love a partner who makes them laugh and smile and Davidson is perfect for fulfilling that desire. An article by Well and Good speculated one of the reasons many women find Davidson so attractive is because he comes off as the “antithesis of a star.” Essentially, his down to earth nature is unlike the typical celebrity. He does not appear to think he is  above everyone else despite his status. Additionally, Davidson has been very open about his mental health struggles in the past. Being so open about these struggles shows that he is not afraid to speak about a topic that is so widely stigmatized, and for many this an attractive quality that makes him seem more relatable and vulnerable than the majority of other male celebrities.

In the end, women’s attraction to Davidson comes down to personality and kind nature. It is not always about looks or status even with celebrities, but it is instead about character and disposition. So men, take notes, because Davidson has won over women you can only dream about.
