If you are in the gaming world or live with someone who likes to play video games, chances are you either have an Xbox One or a PlayStation 4 (PS4). There is a huge debate on which system reigns supreme, but the big question is, which console is actually the best? Here is a breakdown of the aspects of each system to help determine which is better.
Price:
PS4: When it first came out, the PS4 was $399. It currently retails for $250-300
Xbox One: When the Xbox One was first released it was also $399, and currently it stands at $250-300 as well.
Final consensus: When considering price they are relatively the same, so this cannot be a determining factor on which console is better.
Controllers:
PS4: Called the Dualshock 4, it comes with two joysticks, a d-pad, touch pad, and several other controls. The touchpad on the Dualshock is an exclusive feature that the Xbox One controllers do not provide. Not only is it compatible for games, it also makes typing on it easier, just by simply swiping your finger across the pad. The PS4 also has a light bar that has a default color of blue that changes to red when it is dying and then also changes color corresponding with the game. For example, in the game Grand Theft Auto Five, when you are being chased by the cops, the will colors change from flashing blue and red. The Dualshock 4 also has built in speakers,
Xbox One: This controller comes with two joysticks that are at different levels on the controller, a d-pad, and several other controls. The Xbox One controller is overall bigger than the PS4 controller which depending on the gamer, could be easier to hold and have control of all the buttons.
Final consensus: If you are strictly looking at the comfort and feel, it depends on if you like a larger controller or a smaller one. In the end, though, the PS4 controller has more features that are also compatible with the games and can make gameplay more enjoyable.
Graphics:
PS4: The PS4 projects 30 to 60 frames per second and 4k resolution.
Xbox One: This counsel also has 30 to 60 frames per second with 4k resolution
Final consensus: They both have the same graphics depending on the games, so this one is a tie.
Added features:
PS4: This console is compatible with virtual reality. This is something that the Xbox One does not offer. This system also has a camera attached with it.
Xbox One: The Xbox One has a camera as well.
Final consensus: If you are the type of person who would be interested in virtual reality games with the headset, then the PS4 would be the way to go. If you do not particularly care for these games then it can really be either way with what system you decide to go with.
The PS4 and Xbox both are very good systems. They each have good graphics and are sold at the same price. However, it comes to specific features that each provides, it seems as though PS4 takes the win, but the real determining factor is based on personal preference.
