Undefeated and headed towards districts, the South Lyon varsity volleyball team has been staying strong and holding up their now 8-0 undefeated record this year. Heading in to districts, this talented group of athletes are expected to lead this team far in the tournament. Everyone can see the close relationships within the team which is represented by how well the team plays together. “Coming to practice feels like we’re all just hanging out. We are such a close group of friends that it feels like we are a family. That’s why I think we all play so well together.” Senior captain Chloe Grimes said.
This group is noticeably a most hardworking team and they are determined to repeat last years conference and district champion titles, and perhaps even go further.
The team made it to regional finals, taking a tough loss to Novi, who were three time state champions. “I am extremely confident our team this year, and I believe that we are going to
make it far.” senior captain Emily Kalinowski said.
With the starting line up made up of eight seniors, it is no doubt that the team is going to be affected by the senior class leaving next year, with two of the players committed to Division II colleges. “I know it’s our last year , but I am determined to go far and leave one last mark on the program before we leave,” Kalinowski Added.
