Grab your wallets and count your cash, because the highly anticipated school store is coming to South Lyon High School. At orientation, students were greeted with glass doors containing mannequins and tables in the usually empty space located adjacent to the commons. The school has been making changes since last year like, introducing advisory hour, so it is only fitting that they add a school store to increase our Lion spirit.
School spirit wear is going to be the best sellers in the store. “I really hope that they will have sweatpants and sweatshirts,” junior Sierra Steckle said. The store will be carrying clothing, specifically Nike clothing, as well as some other brands. They will be selling pom poms, face paint, and other accessories that will make your aesthetic at school events and in school all the more spirited. School supplies will be available at the store as well, so you will not have to worry about losing that number two pencil for the PSAT again. Special education para, Mrs. Denise Shelton said, “The store will expand little by little. Right now it is just a work in process.”
Mrs. Shelton explained that at this time, the school store will be open during all lunches and will be student-run, but change might occur in the future. This might mean that they will try and have it open more often, after they do a trail run. It will also be open right before home games on Friday nights.
Mrs. Shelton is currently accepting different ideas for the school store to make it so all students are very happy with the final product. If you have any ideas you can contact her at sheltond@slcs.us. So South Lyon, get ready to have more school spirit than you could have ever imagined with spirit wear and necklaces and more.
