Dodge this and you will miss out

Kyle Parikh ’18, Business and Ad/Circulation Manager

“I cannot wait to demolish the other teams. The atmosphere is going to be amazing; the dodgeball tournament will be the one event that everyone looks forward to each and every year.” Senior Sophia Ripley said. Student Council is taking a lead role in orchestrating the first annual dodgeball tournament on Feb 10, just after the winter pep assembly on Feb. 9. Student Council wanted to create an event that takes place in the otherwise boring winter.

Those who want to participate will have to put together a five-player roster and submit them during lunchtime starting Dec. 17 until Dec. 22. One person per team is responsible for writing down each of his or her school appropriate team name and their teammates’ full names. Each team is required to have at least one boy and one girl. Once all of the teams are submitted, they will be organized into a round-robin style tournament, which will be posted by Jan. 8 for everyone to see. The winning team will be awarded a mystery prize.

“It will be a big positive for the school. Hopefully, the dodgeball tournament will be a tradition that is carried out through the upcoming years.” Student Council president Katie Jakubik said. “I want to leave a legacy; I want to be watching everybody having the time of their lives, knowing that I was able to put this event together.” Senior Sam DeFrank said. In order for the dodgeball tournament to reach legendary status, participation is vital.
