Spring break is just around the corner and not everybody is going on vacation in warm climates and all inclusive resorts. Many families are staying home, which means working, relaxing, catching up on sleep, and hanging out with the others who stayed home. At some point though there may come a time when there is a need for activity rather than relaxation, so here are some ideas to kill that boredom that lingers during breaks.
Firstly, possibly something to do with family or friends is grab your clubs that have been collecting dust and head to Topgolf in Auburn Hills. Topgolf is a fun experience; however, it is a little expensive, with the cheapest price being $22 and $70 at the highest. Friday and Saturday are the most expensive and always more pricey later in the day as the bays become filled with adults and teenagers ready for the weekend. Topgolf is fun because it is a driving range but with more fun in the building and games to modify your experience, and there is also food served at Topgolf. Also even if people don’t have their own clubs, they provide clubs for free. A google review by Mike Julian stated “Stopped at Topgolf Auburn Hills on our way to Frankenmuth, and it was an absolute blast”. Now the recommendation for going to a place like this is the earlier the better. Its cheapest is earlier in the week and earlier in the day.
Another option is going to Soaring Eagle, which has a waterpark. The waterpark is no Kalahari or Bavarian Inn but it holds its own. A Google review by William Easterday sums this: “It’s a small water park, but it appears well maintained. It has the things you would expect at a water park.” The waterpark contains everything somebody could want from a slide to a surf machine. Although, maybe the drive isn’t worth it, there is a place closer to South Lyon that has water parks and more.
Finally, Frankenmuth is another fun option and great way to spend some days of spring break. From the Bavarian Inn and Zhender’s water parks, to just the downtown area of Frankenmuth, which from experience is exceptionally wonderful, from the food to the entertainment. Now another thing to do is very early Christmas shopping at Bronner’s or possibly just explore the whole area.
There are things to do in Michigan if you are staying home during break and have nothing to do. From golf, to swimming, to shopping and possibly just adventuring around. There is stuff to do and the best thing about everything mentioned is it is possible to do no matter the weather conditions. Now maybe some would be more enjoyable in nicer weather, but weather is not a devastating factor for any of these possible plans to create and do. So, what’s the excuse, it seems like there is nothing to do, well there is, just got to go out here, explore, and enjoy.
