As the month of love comes around, many couples are having to make spur-of-the-moment decisions about what to get their significant other for Valentine’s Day. Every store is contained with boyfriends trying to find gifts for their girlfriends and figure out how to ask them to be their valentine, and girlfriends struggling to find the perfect gift for their boyfriends. Figuring out the perfect gift for your significant other may be a bit troublesome, and for some, it may even become stressful; however, many different ‘trendy’ gift ideas could be perfect for this Valentine’s Day.
One of the most popular and simple gift ideas right now is ‘bae baskets.’ These baskets started as boo baskets during October and evolved into a theme for the months that followed. These baskets could consist of blankets, candles, perfume or cologne, snacks or candy, and little things that accompany your significant other’s hobbies or interests. For the specific Valentine’s bae baskets, it is usually filled with a lot of pink and red items to fit the theme of love. Adding simple items like heart candy, red or pink colored blankets, and any other items like little silly things that you think would make your significant other happy can take the basket to the next level.
Another highly popular gift for girlfriends is a big bouquet of red roses with glitter on them, however you may not have to do as much as that to win your girlfriend over. Lately, most couples find that getting small, meaningful, and sentimental gifts is more important and thoughtful to give to your significant other. Making flower bouquets of your partner’s favorite flowers wrapped with brown paper bag paper, and a small ribbon can achieve the sentimental aspect of the gift.
No matter how short or long a relationship is, giving your partner a meaningful gift rather than something big and flashy is always good. Most have found that couples that have given each other small and thoughtful gifts have more of a happier and more open relationship than couples who just give each other big things that your partner may not really like only on special occasions. Junior Braden Fox said, “I am giving my girlfriend her favorite flowers, her favorite candy, and some small nice and funny things that I thought that she would like.” Giving your partner a meaningful gift shows that you pay attention to the little things that they value or talk about. Like if they have mentioned that they really love a certain type of animal, then you could buy them a stuffed animal of their favorite animal. Showing a little ounce of proof that you really do care and that you listen to your partner is a lot more special and significant to them instead of something expensive or something as cliché as flowers.
There are many different gift options that you could give to your partner that will show them that they matter to you. All these ideas have their own way of showing love and gratitude towards your significant other—whether it be something big that they have wanted for a long time, or something small that indicates a sense that you pay attention to things that are important or meaningful to them. Any gesture will share care.
