While students transition into cozy winter sweaters and thick jackets, we reminisce on fall trends and how influencers and students styled them. Fall 2023 fashion trends focused on Tasmanian Uggs, Loafers, Adidas Sambas, New Balance sneakers, oversized baggy clothes, chunky sweaters, and sweatpants. Colors of butter yellows, icy blues, kelly greens, and burgundies. “I hate chocolate browns and burgundy, but I like everything else,” senior Alivia Pickl said on fall color trends. Many students have different opinions on fall colors, and trends and you can tell through their style.
While fashion trends vary year to year, 2023’s focused on popular influencers like Cole Sprouse. He was first seen on tv, but has now become a notable fashion influencer. In 2022 Sprouse was on many headlines for his Western-inspired style, and he was named an emerging- style icon. Now Sprouse has taken on the dad style, but he’s put his own twist on it. Walking out of the JW Anderson show in London, he was wearing baggy jeans, a white button up, a blue hat, and a black blazer with exposed stitching. Many influencers have started participating in the oversized clothing trends, including Kendall Jenner, Taylor swift and Kit Connor.
While ripped skinny jeans were all the rage in 2016 and 2017, monochromatic clothing from brands like Pacsun and LuluLemon. Students wear monochromatic outfits by picking a color and incorporating it in different ways. For example if someone picked blue, they could wear a blue baggy sweatshirt with jeans and blue shoes. Although sticking to a color scheme while keeping in trend can be a daily goal, others tend to just go for day to day comfort. Senior Alaynna Olesuk said, “I like to participate in shoe trends. especially Uggs because they are so comfy.” The most popular shoes you will see walking around school are Uggs. The most popular style of Uggs include the slippers, Tasmanian Uggs, and mini Uggs. Many wear them because they are cute and cozy.
As with every trend, certain clothing is seeing its way out of trendy fashion for some students. “[No] neutral colors, oversized sweaters, possibly less flannels, and no more Timberlands,” senior Ella Argentati said. Fashion trends can change every month or even year. In all, we have new fall fashion trends every season, but trends do not change drastically. Next year trends will probably be similar, but still different.
